Good Evening Parents, this is Assistant Principal TImothy Messer with a reminder about the upcoming ACT events and activity. On February 26th, 2025 Students will create their My ACT Account. This will be needed in order to set up their accounts. Their MY ACT will be where the students will retrieve their scores after the testing has been completed. This is where the scores are posted. They will be able to retrieve the scores for 5 years. They need to use an active email account that will be in existence for at least the next 5 years . DO NOT use your NCPS email to set this account up. It will not be available after you graduate high school. This way they will be able to retrieve their scores for the next 5 years no matter what they do after graduation. Some may not go straight into college or go into the military, etc. They should know their address, phone number, Student ID #, and an email they will have for at least 5 more years. You would be surprised at how many students have recently moved, have a new numbers, etc. These are needed to fully complete the setup in order to have their My ACT account fully functional. Thursday, January 23, 2025 will be a Remote Learning Day for all of Nash County Public Schools (NCPS). Remote learning assignments may be accessed through Canvas, Google Classroom or other communication from your child’s teachers or principal. Office hours will also be offered by teachers if permissible. Please look for detailed information in Rooms and/or your student’s learning management system.
NCPS has procedures in place to ensure students are not negatively affected if they are unable to complete tasks due to a lack of technology, power, or other challenges. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s teacher(s).
Friday, January 24, 2025: All NCPS schools will operate on a two-hour delay due to the potential for icy road conditions. Breakfast will be available at schools. Students may be dropped off 40 minutes prior to the start of their school day. Essential personnel should report at their regular time, provided it is safe to do so.

All Elementary Schools will be released early at 2:00 p.m.
All Middle Schools and Tar River Academy will be released early at 2:30 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 — Northern Nash High School successfully conducted a lockdown drill this morning. Everything went smoothly. Thank you to all staff, students and the Nash County Sheriff's Office for their support during the drill.
This is an opportunity for any North Carolina rising high school freshman through rising seniors to apply for the Youth Health Advisor (YHA) Team with the Division of Child and Family Well-Being.
The purpose of the YHA team is to engage and empower adolescents to become active leaders in promoting health and wellness in their communities. Through education, awareness, and action, the team works to increase understanding of adolescent health issues, reduce health disparities, and encourage young people to make healthy choices. The team hopes to help create a healthier future for all youth by supporting growth and development, fostering collaboration and teamwork, and empowering young people to make a positive impact in the world.
The YHA team is an inclusive group of young people and welcomes applications from youth who identify as having special healthcare needs.
